Tesla founder Elon Musk reassures that word-of-mouth advertising is key to the flourishing of a successful product.
Current Tesla owners received a letter on Wednesday detailing this philosophy as well as a new program that will allow customers to be rewarded for their positive reviews. Until October 31st, you will be able to sway your friends into buying a brand new Model S vehicle using a personal referral link. Each purchase will grant you $1,000 to your account, eligible for further investments such as a service charge, accessories, or even a new car. A discount of $1,000 will also be applied to every purchase.
If a total of five referrals are reached, you will receive a personal invite from Elon Musk himself to tour the Gigafactory when it opens. If a total of ten referrals are reached, you will be given access to purchase a Founder Series Model X with all available upgrades at no extra cost.
But, if you are the first person to make ten successful referrals, a Model X will be yours, absolutely free.
